2019 Lawton Student Design Scholarship & Reception

This year marks the sixth year Lawton Printing Services has awarded scholarships to local graphic design students. We had 31 submissions from students at both North Idaho College and Spokane Falls Community College.

For this year’s project, the students had a choice of three markets: Credit Unions, Real Estate Agencies, and Not-for-Profits. The students each chose one market and designed a piece using the provided template and copy. The inspiration for this piece was a sample we had found in the office. We changed the size so that, when folded, the piece was 4″ x 6″, and could easily fit into an envelope.

The Reception was held on Wednesday, March 6, at our office. A huge thank you goes to our judges! Returning from last year were judges Michell Kaminski from DAA Northwest and Courtney Sowards from helveticka, and we were also joined by Jules VanSant, partner at Bubble & Hatch, and Executive Director of PPI Association.

We would like to thank all of the students who participated this year, and to all the professors who joined in to make this a success. This year we had a total of 4 winners:

First Place: Christian Wilson of Spokane Falls Community College

Second Place: Suelynn Parker of North Idaho College

Third Place: Aaliyah Gonzalez of  Spokane Falls Community College

Honorable Mention: Natalie Carpenter of Spokane Falls Community College
