The college gameday opener for the EWU Eagles football was a win all the way around. Congratulations to the Eagles for a 56-35 victory over the Sam Houston State Bearkats. And congratulations to the EWU Athletics marketing team and the Lawton Printing Services team for a 2-1/2 hour turnaround of 7,500 gameday posters!
This unique project with EWU Athletics included pre-planning and a solid team effort. Marshall E. Peterson, Jr. took a photo of the game opening kickoff on Saturday afternoon at “The Inferno”. The photo was transferred digitally from Roos Field to Lawton, where prepress staff imposed it and upload it to our production facilities. Digital presses at multiple facilities ran for about an hour and 7,500 gameday posters were then delivered to Roos Field during the third quarter.
The 12” x 18” full color posters were handed out to EWU fans at the conclusion of the game. One excited fan had this to say about the gameday poster, “I want to say I (was) impressed with the Game Day Kick-off posters developed and printed by your company. And, not the least of which was the capturing of the opening kickoff against Sam Houston! We put one up on our ‘EWU’ wall in the garage, I have one up at work and more are being given to our kids. Way to go!”
The Lawton team has also worked with the Spokane Chiefs Hockey on a similar project when they hosted the Kootenay Ice at The Outdoor Hockey Classic in 2011.
In addition to planning and communication, the key to this project is digital printing. HP Indigo Digital printing delivers fast response times and excellent quality.
